handmade-oriental-nomadic-pile-cushion-309490
Handmade Oriental nomadic pile cushion - 309490

Usually, the bedding bags are known as Bolesht bags, a name given to a long, narrow bag. However, we also find square pieces converted into these beautiful cushions with carpet pile on one side and flatweave (kelim) on the reverse side. Often, these will be decorated with tassels, beads, buttons and sometimes even shells. Tribal or nomadic people use the bags and normally store their bedding during the day, which also acts as a floor cushion. They are handmade from vegetable-dyed wool and often have loops threaded together and a stick fed through them so the bag does not lose its contents. They are generally in the red and brown colour spectrum with a traditional design used by that particular tribe.

Product size:

<colgroup>
<col style="width: 190px;" width="191">
<col style="width: 150px;" width="151">
</colgroup>

68 x 66cm

(2'3 x 2'2)
